Precision Dentistry
At Ramani Dentistry, precision is at the heart of everything we do. Dr. Akhil Ramani and our team combine advanced training with state-of-the-art technology to deliver care that is not only comfortable but also exceptionally accurate. Every detail matters, from the way we capture images to the way we prepare and restore teeth.
Our practice uses 3D intraoral scanning, advanced radiography, and other digital protocols in combination with traditional dental techniques to provide patients with the most comfortable and successful outcomes possible. With the help of the Dexis OP 3D™ EX CBCT, TRIOS® 5 wireless scanner, KaVo electric handpieces, and digital imaging tools, we deliver dentistry that is more accurate, less invasive, and more comfortable than ever before.
High Magnification Loupes
At Ramani Dentistry, precision matters down to the smallest detail. Dr. Ramani performs all procedures using high-magnification surgical loupes, which provide an enhanced, close-up view of teeth and surrounding structures. This magnification allows for earlier detection of small cracks, cavities, and defects, as well as more accurate preparation and placement of restorations.
Compared to working with the naked eye, loupes give us the ability to achieve exceptionally precise margins and finishes—leading to longer-lasting crowns, veneers, and fillings. For patients, this means more predictable results, more comfortable procedures, and dentistry that truly reflects a microscopic level of care.
Electric Handpieces
Many dentists use air-driven “hand-pieces” (the dental term for “drills”). While acceptable for many procedures, these “whiney sounding” air-powered hand pieces all have a degree of non-concentricity; they do not rotate perfectly smoothly.
For the most precise aspects of restorative procedures, we use electric hand-pieces. This results in extraordinarily precise interfaces between your tooth and your new restoration (dental crown, tooth veneer, or tooth filling). This will bring more comfort to you as well. With a more precise tool, there is less vibration and less noise.
Digital X-Rays
At Ramani Dentistry, we use advanced digital imaging to see beyond what the eye can detect and provide the most accurate diagnoses possible. Digital X-rays allow us to detect cavities between teeth, evaluate bone levels, examine roots and nerves, and identify conditions such as cysts, tumors, or trauma-related damage. Compared to traditional film, digital radiographs use up to 80% less radiation and provide sharper images that we can instantly view on-screen, store in your chart, or securely share with specialists and insurance companies.
Our office also features the Dexis OP 3D™ EX Cone Beam CT scanner, which creates detailed 3D images of your teeth, jaw, and airway. This technology is invaluable for planning dental implants, assessing bone quality, evaluating sinus anatomy, and diagnosing complex conditions with precision and safety. By combining digital radiography with 3D cone beam imaging, we ensure every patient receives thorough, safe, and highly accurate care.
Wireless Intraoral Scanning
Instead of messy impressions, we use the TRIOS® 5 wireless scanner to create precise 3D digital models of your teeth. These scans improve the accuracy of crowns, bridges, and aligners, while also making your visit more comfortable and efficient.
